# Getting Started

Three steps take you from a new Joulescope to your first measurement:

1. {doc}`unboxing`: check what came with your instrument and what you need
   to provide.
2. {doc}`install_ui`: install the Joulescope UI on your computer.
3. {doc}`first_steps`: connect your Joulescope and make a measurement.
